COVID-19 protocols in effect

What happens when we pause and challenge ourselves to examine, and then to express, the ideas that preoccupy us about life and how we manage in the world?

The result for five visual artists is captured in Interlude, an exhibit of recent works in painting, photography and sculpture.

Different as each artist’s body of work is from the others, all were produced through attentiveness to creative process over several months of collaboration. And all share a focus on themes of transition, impermanence, isolation and connection.

As it happens, Interlude was conceived before COVID imposed a global pause in “normal” life—a pause that heightened the world’s collective awareness of matters of isolation and uncertainty, and underscored how vital human connections are.

And so, even more than before, we hope that the works in this exhibition will resonate with viewers as all of us reflect on the many dimensions of “time in between.”
